Description
The Gipfel Track Roller Seal is a mechanical face seal, also known as a floating seal or heavy-duty seal, that retains lubricant and excludes mud, sand, dust and water in heavily loaded, slow-running assemblies. Each seal set comprises two identical metal seal rings with precision-lapped sealing faces and two elastomer toric rings that load the faces axially and seal against the housings.
The rings are installed face to face in their housings, one stationary and one rotating. The lapped faces run on a thin lubricant film, giving long, maintenance-free service in track rollers, idlers, final drives and wheel hubs of earth-moving, mining, agricultural and material-handling equipment.
